Labor Day Weekend

For this Labor Day weekend, & my Mom's & step-Mom's birthdays, we have already done loads of stuff. WE have gone to Chili's, Sam's, & then to Alabama Adventure for one of our last for this season :(:(.
Mom, Daniel, & I went to Chili's on Friday evening and had Chocolate Molten Cake (YUMMY :D) then we went to Sam's & she (yes, I said SHE) bought her a new top mattress. She slept ALL night long last night and did not wake up until like 6:30 this morning. No, I have to admit WE have not YET gotten either one of them a present. I would LOVE to be able to purchase Mom the box springs she needs for her bed, but we can barely afford food at this point so she may just get some lunch tomorrow or Monday or something. I know horrible :-[ !!
Today, we finally all got up and left to go to Alabama Adventure for possibly the last time this season and probably the next couple of seasons. I don't know about the rest of the family but it was alright. I think we've sort of have gotten tired of going and just was doing the motions so to speak. I even forgot my camera. Can you believe that!?!?! Crazy huh?
Well tomorrow we have plans to go to Naomi & Jimbeaux's house for a get together after church. Then on Monday I would like to go visit some great Grandparent's that we haven't seen in awhile. Ummm, that is both sets of Great Grandparent's. We are only going to visit one though on Mon. I would have some very tired children if we did that (not to mention some very unhappy great grandparent's). I hope to be able to visit the other set another weekend soon.
Well this was our holiday weekend. I hope everyone who reads this has an awesome, safe , & fun weekend like we did. God bless ;D.

My School Starting

Ok, so this past Wednesday was the first day of college for me (first day of many, many,MANY more to come). Honestly I was dreading last Wed, due to the fact that in January 2008 I sat for 50 min in the introductory class, & heard EVERYTHING we had to do to be able to pass this class. I was horrified (& quite frankly relieved) after leaving that class knowing that one day would be my day to be in the class & have to do it.

Well I sat through the lab class & about shouted to the sky "Praise the Lord" when they announced that mins no longer counted. Yes, I am telling the truth if you've been to a UAB math class minutes no longer count & that is a blessing. Also we can practice/do homework @ home. This is also a blessing because I can stay up later certain nights to figure out what in the world I'm doing & how you do it. (As you can tell math is not my best subject...in fact I believe that it was my worst, but NO MORE!!!)

This class seems to be aimed toward the math challenged people in the world (& yes I AM one of them) so that we can pass with higher GPA's and get our degrees faster. I am sooo thankful to the Lord that he put it on one of those professor's hearts or the dean (or whomever) to change this program & make it this way. I've already been working on my homework & I have only missed 1 problem. YES JUST ONE!!! I'm so excited that I had to tell someone so why not publish it.
Only 2 people will tell me if they read this so I challenge you family & friends (especially you) comment.

School Starting

Today we got to meet David's new teacher (for the 3rd grade!!) as well as seeing his 1st & 2nd grade teachers. His kindergarten teacher no longer lives in this state (& we missed her tonight) but we know she is doing what is best for her family.

I think this will be a great year for David. Unfortunatly, none of David's past friends are in his class this year. This could be okay. I have a feeling that he will be very busy. He has been accepted to the RLC program, he is gonna do Discovery Club Kids on Wed, & of course he'll be doing TNT within the AWANA program at church as well as the children's choir.

Speaking of the children's choir, Daniel is also going to be able to go to the preschool choir this year & to Cubbies. This is going to be FUN. Daniel doesn't act like he's learning from me (even though I know he does) so it is sort of frustrating for me to teach him. I hope this will help him to show me he's learning better than I ever thought.

Okay, the first day of school is tomorrow so now I need to go and get kids ready for bed (as well as myself). Everyone have a great first day!!!

VBS at Eureka Methodist Church

The Whole Gang @ "God's Big Backyard" EMC 2008
David doing a bumblebee craft
"C" and Daniel learning their song for Parent Night
I guess Daniel really doesn't enjoy Bible School!!
He's got the Whole world in HIS hands.

Ok, So I know some of you are wondering where does the Methodist Church come in? My Dad and Step-Mom have been attending a small Methodist Church that is close to their home in Lincoln. They were having their VBS from this past Wed-Sat.

I have to say that I did not want to go (even though I said I would). Things had happend on Thursday that just made me not want to go and so I just really wanted to stay at home and rest. This would've been a BAD mistake. I was so blessed by these children and "The Big Backyard" theme. I was only there for 2 days, but I still got blessed. I was supposed to be there for 3 because I had already told them that I did not want to miss choir.
