Wordless Wednesday
The moon one night just as a storm came rolling in....
The storm was on one side...we saw this on the other!

Eyes & pets
The Paper Mama had a contest last week about eyes and I think that I Heart Faces also had the same challenge. I actually took the picture last week, but never was able to link up in time. So once again I'm going to play catch up and link to them but not link my pic for the contest...because ya know it's already over.
And now for the pets...The Paper Mama and I Heart Faces are doing this photo challenge this week and it is pets...I know I have a pet up above but Oh my...Look at them!!!
Aren't they beautiful!?!
And just to add one more for the eyes because I can...
And now for the pets...
This is my Mom's Yorkie. They live with us. Isn't she sweet?
The first week of school
I thought I'd get on the band wagon and post about my kids first week of school.
My oldest, went to middle school this year and if you followed, yes I said follow in past tense because someone hacked into my account so I'm no longer on, me on Twitter or follow me on Facebook than you already know my feelings about this. I am sad and happy all at the same time. I was also very fearful because my son has some things that he does that will make him a target for bullies. I am SO.VERY.THANKFUL that we have friends that are older and are willing to help me thru this stage. Even our friends kids gladly said they'd take up for him and who better to take up for a sixth grader than four eighth grade boys! I fell much happier and better :) Oh there has been some incidents over Big D's shoes..yes I said SHOES!! So after talking to him and all and since the kid won't stop bugging him about it (which I must add he has handled it very well) I got our friend's boys to say something postive about his shoes and hopefully all of that will come to an end.
My youngest was SO happy to be starting first grade and then it hit him. The work, the homework (yes I freakin know on the first week!), the testing (yup already!), and the getting up early was killing him. Let's add on that he was at the tailend of some sort of cold or something. So for his benefit and his teacher's I allowed him to stay home on Friday. He wasn't really all that feverish and he was a crazy guy. So, I really regretted letting him stay but at the same time I'm also glad he got too, he really needed it. It helped him for this week so that he could be refreshed.
So far, both boys have done really well about getting up and being out on time for the bus. I am so happy about this, the only thing is that I am the one that is having the problem getting up. UGH!!

A Birthday Party and VBS in one day!!
Not too long after our niece went home our boys went to my Dad and Step-Mom's church/home for VBS. Around here we love VBS and we have missed out this year so I was happy to allow my children to go to VBS this time. In fact there is a plus side, we got to spend Thurs, Fri, & the 1 hour drive there in peace without them. Now don't get me wrong I love, love, love, my children but I was ready for a break and so was my hubs.
So after MDO on Thursday I took them to their little church for VBS, I absolutely loved the ride...both boys were so good and my only regret was that we were so late and that I did not bring my camera. So much beauty on that ride that day...ahhhh!!!
I really don't remember what we did those 42 hours but I do remember we went out to eat several times. I just remember enjoying time with my husband.
We woke up early-ish, for us, to head to get our children so they could go to their cousin's birthday party with the promise of taking them back to the VBS finale. We ate yummy hot dogs, chatted with family, and then we ate some of the yummiest, homemade ice cream cookie cake ever!! I just can't bake, cook, fix like that I really & truly don't have the patience right now...maybe one day when all I do is work without school and such {sigh}.
We then raced back to the church for VBS finale. I enjoyed watching my children sing to the music (which they still do that now) and seeing the pictures (the preachers wife is a wonderful photographer) and seeing all the crafts they did. I usually enjoy joining them outside taking pictures of the kids just being...kids and having fun, but this time I stayed inside after all the food was eaten and talked to a good friend of the family about working and the different hours working.
On the way home the kids fell asleep and we all had a fantastic weekend.

Our Vistors Part 2
So I left out a few things....
"M" had her very first visit to the Thrift Store on Monday coming home from my Grandparents' house and then that night we all went to Sam's for supper and to grab some food for the week for all the kids.
On Tuesday night I fell asleep and missed class but I did have time to take Lil D to his MDO teacher's church for their VBS that night. He enjoyed it so much and begged the older kids to go with him the next night.
Wed was also a work day for me so all the kiddos went. All the kids got to do water day on this day and I know they had SO.MUCH.FUN. I mean who wouldn't love a great big water slide with all your summertime friends all around you :) All I remember about that lovely day was having a massive, and when I say massive I mean mucho-macho massive, headache. My MDO class was very good & I am so thankful for that and so I got thru it & when we went home we all rested so we could go back to The Healing Place for the final night of VBS. The theme was a circus theme and it was too cute with a lot of cool stuff and the final night was carnival style & all the kids had a blast.
Thursday was the last day I had to work and the kids got to go see a movie (I believe) and then we went to see my Mom's parents after we all returned from MDO (My mom worked on this day up at MDO). I didn't get a picture of them with "M" because they had been eating or were eating and I didn't want to disturb them. I did get a beautiful picture of the sky though...:)
On the last full day of "M"'s stay we went to the McWane Center downtown. I had talked Joey into taking off about half a day and meeting us there so he met up with us & we wondered the exhibit halls & played with all the gadgets and stuff. I think "M" liked it OK, but I found out later she was disappointed because she didn't do everything. Guess we should've gotten there earlier, huh?! I don't think it was too much that she didn't do & none of us did anything that cost money.
We had a great time with our niece and can not wait to be able to see her again real soon!

Our week of vistor's Part 1
Our niece recently visited us for the week. We gave her Lil D's room for the week and she was so pleased with everything about the room. I had worked really hard at making sure that it was cleaned and ready just for her.
Our adventure started on Saturday evening, I had a Premier Jewelery show that night and I wanted to know if she wanted to go with me. She graciously declined, which probably was good because they like to give me a hard time while I am "working". HA! They are just getting me ready for a show without anyone that I know but the hostess :)
On Sunday, we gave "M" the choice of coming with us to church or going with Nana and she happily chose to go with us. We went to the church we have been visiting in my new favorite little town and then we went to eat at my most favorite place to eat, YAY!!! After eating we met back up with Nana to go buy "M" a bathing suit. While we were shopping I called Pop & Mimi to see when we could come visit them and we agreed that Sunday afternoon was the best time to come for all. So after shopping around and finding a great bathing suit for "M" off we went to the lake!
While at the lake, Pop took us on a boat ride, let them ride on the intertube, & swim in the lake, ride bicycles, and then he let me take the kids out on the golf cart. I am SO glad that all of the kids have a while before they get to legally drive because boy do they need some lessons. I know what we will be doing in the pasteur in a couple of years! They all had their good points too though so it won't be that hard to teach them.
The next day we met my cousin & the kids 2nd cousin for lunch. I couldn't wait to see her because it had been a while and see how her & the still growing inside of her twins were. She does pregnancy really well. Anyhow, after we met her we went to my Grandparents (the kids Great-Grandparents) so that "M" could see them. It was more for her than them since they probably do not remember her being there now. My Grandmother knows who we are...sometimes...and I think she knew who I was, but I think she thought "M" was my sister! Oh well, I took her and have pictures to prove it, ha!!
Tuesday was a work day for me and of course "M" wanted to tag along I am SO glad she did!! On that particular day MDO had a petting "zoo" come so the kids could pet the animals. Some of them of course didn't want to come near them but there were others that was all about it! I know my class loved the animals even if they weren't wild about touching them & I think the older classes liked them too.
