Show Us Your Life: Costumes past & present

Well it is that time of year again when some adults, children, & even some tweens or teens dress up in a costume (whether it is homemade or bought) go door to door, a church function, or an organized haunted house, e.t.c. to get candy or be scared out of their wits. I was really never allowed to dress up or even allowed to celebrate Halloween in any form or fashion as a child. It was only in my teen years that I went Trick-or-Treating for the first time. Come to think of it…I didn’t go to the door I felt silly I sat in the car with my friend’s then boyfriend while my friend & my then boyfriend went & got the candy.

I do dress my children up in non scary, church appropriate costumes & hit the churches fall festivals. The kids partake in yummy free hot dogs, games of all kinds, & many rides. They always have a fun time & of course the Pumpkin’s Light is told so they get some of the WORD in them too.

Here are a few more pictures of past Halloween’s. Some do include the ONE Halloween we passed candy out here & spent way too much money on it. This is the reason why we do not stay home on Halloween night.

We hope & pray each of you have a safe & happy Halloween too!!

Worldwide Day of Rememberance Oct 15,2009

Good evening friends!!

If you follow me on Twitter or on my Facebook page than you have already seen this.  I wanted to share it here too though.

I would LOVE to give you some background on HOW a became a Mom that has to light a candle in rememberance for my children.  I NEVER thought that it would happen too me.  Especially a girl for that matter, but alas it did.

GOD has been soo good to us though & be assured that I am able to get up and smile (even now) because of HIS joy, peace, grace, & mercy!!  It is NOTHING that I have done on my own.

Maybe I can soon share my entire story with you but for now I leave you with some pictures from tonight.

Show Us Your Life: Teams, Traditions, Game Day, & Tailgating

What fun this is to be able to show your support for you favorite team?  You can join Kelly & all her bloggy friends to see everyone's support for their teams over on Kelly’s blog.

We cheer for the Auburn Tigers, WAR EAGLE HEY!! This year we actually have a pretty good offense & a really good defense & the polls finally show it.  At this moment Auburn is #17, Yipee!!  We are always proud to be an Auburn tiger, even when we do lose, b/c it is all about togetherness-as a family & a team family!

Our traditions have included the following:
*Dressing in our Auburn tees, jeans, & other stuff to go watch the game at Grandparents house.

*Watching the Auburn/Alabama game with friends &/or family (sometimes promising everyone that it would be on during my oldest sons birthday party)

*Going down to Auburn, AL to tailgate, eat the yummy food, sitting on the 50 yard line in "God's Country" watching the tigers win against whomever they are playing (or in some instances loose, honestly though..I have only been @ Auburn twice when they have lost).

*Scalping tickets when we bought season passes, HA! Yes we did that too!  Humm..maybe MckMama needs a No, not me game day!

*Watching Aubie, Spirit, & the fans stay perked & ready to scream whenever OUR team needed our support.

*Taking a picture of the Water Tower EVERY time I went down there!

*Lastly taking a picture of my TIGERS & the team that we played against on that particular day as they came out to play each Saturday!

Our Busy Weekend!

The birthday girl & her Mommy!

This weekend was very busy for the Morrison's.  On Friday, I left school early because originally Naomi, Rachel, & I were going to have a "Pretty Party" (or it was for a Mary Kay, PARTYLITE, & Premier Jewelry party) it promised to be a good one, but due to circumstances beyond our control we had to cancel.  We were also going to take the boys to my Mom's elementary school's annual fall festival, BUT we changed our mind at the last minute & decieded that we would go to Homestead Hollow on Saturday instead.

It's my bday, let's light my candles!

On Saturday we got up later than we planned but we tried to make it to Homestead Hollow & couldn't so Mom suggested we go out & eat breakfast.  We ate at Burger King so the boys could play a while.  After we ate, I took Joey home so he could rest a while & the boys & I set out to do some shopping.  A bit before one I brought the boys back to Joey so I could help set up for a sweet 11 year old's bday party.  It was so much fun to help setting up & all with this party & so special.  Since my sweet baby girl isn't here on this earth I live vicarously thru my friend's little girls & this bday party was a "Tea Party" party & dinner.  It was SO fun!!

The icing for the cake...

Putting the icing on the cake...& no I had no partake in this!

All set up for a Tween Tea Party & Dinner for family & friends-great times.

Wait did I say that already?

Daddy I wanna cross the monkey bars, on yours back!

Sunday was a great day for worship & fun.  We went to a wonderful service and then went to eat @ a local park with our church family.  I called Mom & she brought Kipper so that he could run around & have some fun too.  I think he had a blast & all the little kiddos LOVED him.  Kipper is such a good dog with kids he is just hyper!  My lil Daniel actually was playing soccer with one of his friends & even Dave joined in the fun well until he got hit in the face with a soccer ball.  The kiddos always have such a fun time there and we love taking them to the picnic.

Playing on the playground. wahoo!!

It started to sprinkle while we were at the picnic put we decieded to go ahead & take a shot anyhow & go to Homestead Hollow.  Remember we tried to go all weekend long?

Playing soccer with my church friends.  I like playing now!!

So anyways...

MMmmmmm, Good Homemade ice cream, delish!

We finally got over there & look at probably half of the stuff.  Joey & I saw TONS of this we wanted but all we got was ice cream, some fried pies, an Auburn necklace, & pictures :).  Then it POURED down rain on us & we decieded that we were going home.  David & I were freezing & Daniel had Joey's coat on but he was on top of his shoulders so it wasn't that big of a deal.  We also got to ride the "double" golf cart to & from our car so we really didn't walk far.

Yummmm...homemade ice cream hit the spot

Woman, Why do you always take a picture of me with food going to my mouth?

Oh, I have forgotten one thing about our trip to Homestead Hollow.  Daniel had to go potty at one point so Joey went with him to show him where to go (a port-a-potty) this is the reaction Joey got....

What, do my business in there?! Are you serious?

The port a potty Dan used (sorry it is so dark, didn't look that way b/4)

It has been a great weekend for us & I hope it was a wonderfully blessed weekend for you too!  Oh and WAR EAGLE!! Auburn is 5-0 now YIPEE!
